Southampton midfielder Ibrahima Diallo says there's positives to draw from their Carabao Cup penalty shootout defeat to Chelsea.
The Frenchman made his third consecutive start in the Carabao Cup tie at Stamford Bridge in which Saints performed admirably, but ultimately bowed out 4-3 on penalties after a 1-1 draw in 90 minutes.
“We're disappointed, of course, but we did a big game," Diallo told the club's website. “That's football.
“It's a big team and we know against this team it's tough to win, but we did a good game.
“It was a big game with a good performance from all the players. Another really good performance, but it's not the win.
“It was not enough, and now we must focus on the next game.
“We have to build on this. I think the next game will be good also. It's another big game against a different team, but we have to be ready."
