Southampton are eyeing Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech as an immediate emergency signing.

The Daily Express says the Czech Republic veteran is set to quit Chelsea in the summer after falling behind Thibaut Courtois in the pecking order at Stamford Bridge.

But Cech could be heading to the south coast, with No.1 Fraser Forster facing up to six months on the sidelines with a knee injury.

Any move for Cech would have to be ratified by the Premier League, with Saints said to be considering an emergency one-month loan deal to help cover he loss of England international Forster.
