Southampton are lining up a move for Middlesbrough defender Ben Gibson, reports HITC.

The report claims that the Saints have identified Gibson as a replacement for Virgil van Dijk, who is likely to leave the club this summer.

The 24-year-old, who is valued at £20m, is also attracting interests from the likes of Liverpool, Leicester City and West Brom.

Gibson made quite an impression in a sub-par Boro side last season and played every league game for his side. On the back of his imposing displays for the Boro, he earned his debut England-callup in March.
