Southampton great Matt Le Tissier has rejected England coach Gareth Southgate's comments about jeers for Harry Maguire.
England put in a fine performance to down Ivory Coast 3-0 with ease after goals from Raheem Sterling, Ollie Watkins and Tyrone Mings. But the friendly also saw Manchester United captain Maguire booed by England fans.
Le Tissier said on Gettr: "If Gareth Southgate doesn't want fans booing his players then he should stick to what he said when he took on the job, that he would pick players on form for their clubs.
"Oh and the fans pay their money to watch so they're allowed an opinion I'd say."
