Southampton goalkeeper Fraser Forster is a step away from signing for Celtic.

The Daily Mail says Forster is reported to be on his way back to Celtic and will have a medical on Thursday ahead of his return to Parkhead.

The Scottish champions have agreed a deal with Southampton for the goalkeeper who has fallen out of favour on the south coast.

Forster, 31, has been drafted in to offer a challenge to both Scott Bain and Craig Gordon.

Bain suffered a dislocated thumb last week and left Celtic short of goalkeeper cover.
