England coach Roy Hodgson says their friendly with Denmark will be a World Cup audition for Southampton fullback Luke Shaw.
The sensational club form Shaw has shown at Southampton earned the left-back a call-up and Hodgson believes the youngster deserves his place in the 30-man squad.
"Everyone who has watched him play recently will not deny he deserves a place in a large squad like this. He's played very well, we think he's an exciting talent.
"I think it was the right moment to invite him along with us because we are very well off in the left full-back position but he is a player who wants to compete with the other two [Cole and Baines] for a place on the plane to Brazil. I thought this was the right time to bring him in and give him a chance to show what he can do."
