Southampton's fixture with Everton has been moved.

The Goodison Park clash was due to take place in the week beginning September 24. However, after weeks of discussions, the fixture has been delayed until Tuesday, October 2.

The fixture is being moved because Everton and Liverpool were drawn at home in the Carabao Cup.

Safety issues due to the close proximity of their stadiums meant they both couldn't play at home on the same night.
