Manchester United full back Brandon Williams could be heading out on loan.

With the Red Devils close to securing Alex Telles from Porto, competition for a full back slot will be greater at the club.

According to Sky Sports, Southampton have asked about taking Williams on loan for the rest of the season.

It is unclear if United are willing to make that happen.

Williams could be used as right back cover for Aaron Wan-Bissaka, but Timothy Fosu-Mensah can also play that role.

The 20-year-old Williams may benefit from a season of playing every week with less scrutiny than he would face at United.
