Southampton duo Oriol Romeu and Jack Stephens have suffered setbacks in their recovery from injury.

The two missed their side's preseason game against Feyenoord after suffering injuries in the preceding days.

Per the Daily Echo, both were set to take part in the game, but were given more time at home to get to 100 percent fitness.

New signing Moussa Djenepo is another who has yet to feature in preseason due to his African Cup of Nations commitments with Mali.

Southampton will be hoping to get to a flying start when the season begins in early August, which is why they are eager to see the likes of Romeu, Stephens and Djenepo return to full training and match sharpness.
