Southampton management know they must move swiftly in the transfer market to stave off a fans' rebellion just a few weeks into Ronald Koeman's reign.
Koeman took the Saints' job, admitting he knew Adam Lallana, Rickie Lambert and Luke Shaw were off.
And only recently the Dutchman declared: "We are not a selling club. We have sold three players and got enough money, so we will keep the rest."
However, in recent days Dejan Lovren has left for Liverpool and Calum Chambers has gone to Arsenal.
An insider told the People: "There are already big fears that Saints will be battling relegation this season."
