Southampton defender Toby Alderweireld is open to moving to Tottenham this summer.

The Belgium international is on-loan at Saints from Atletico Madrid and will seek a permanent transfer away at the end of the season.

Southampton have priority, but Alderweireld could be sold to an English rival, with Atletico paying a penalty clause to Saints.

"I would play again with Jan Vertonghen. But this is not the time to discuss a transfer. Atletico must decide my future.

"I want to stay in the Premier League. The interest of some big clubs in me proves that I'm doing well," he told De Telegraaf.

Alderweireld played with Spurs defender Jan Vertonghen at Ajax.
