Southampton are making a push to sign former Portsmouth defender Adam Webster.
The Bristol City star impressive in the Championship last season, scoring three goals in 47 appearances.
However, the defender would cost the Saints roughly £30 million if they were to make a summer move, per the Bristol Post.
The 24-year-old is a key member of the Bristol team and they are not under any pressure to engage in a quick sale.
In fact, their boss Lee Johnson does not think a move is going to happen.
Speaking to the Bristol Post, Johnson said: "If you're a Premier League club and you're not looking at Adam Webster then you're not doing your business properly.
"He's a player we definitely want to keep and want to build around.
"You can never say never in football because if it was a top-six Premier League side that's chucking out serious money then we'd have to take a view, but at this point, there's absolutely no intention of moving Webby on."
