Bury's highly-rated 15-year-old midfielder Will Ferry is on his way to Southampton.

The Mirror says the teenager was snapped by the Shakers as a seven-year-old, working his way through the various youth sides at Gigg Lane.

He made his Under-18 debut when he was part of the Under-15 squad and trained with the first-team last season, before making the bench against Charlton in February.

Ferry is also a Republic of Ireland Under-18 international and will now link up with the successful Saints academy.
