Southampton boss Claude Puel is monitoring Hatem Ben Arfa's situation at PSG.

Puel worked with Ben Arfa at Nice and regards the former Newcastle attacker highly.

Ben Arfa left Nice to join PSG on a Bosman last summer, but has found himself frozen out by coach Unai Emery.

L'Equipe is reporting news of a training ground clash between the pair where Emery accused Ben Arfa of being selfish.

It's claimed the coach confronted Ben Arfa and snapped: "You're not Messi. If that were the case, I would not even have to talk to you.

"You're not able to beat teams all by yourself!"
