Southampton clinched a crucial 3-2 win over West Brom to move out of the dropzone on Saturday.
Ahmed Hegazi headed West Brom into the lead following a corner after just four minutes.
James Ward-Prowse added a third on 55 minutes with a curling free-kick and Salomon Rondon's goal was mere consolation.
Saints boss Mauricio Pellegrino said afterwards: "We are really happy for many aspects but overall I think the belief and the confidence are really important.
“It was an important game, an important three points but in the Premier League you have got a difficult game every week and we have to be humble because we have to do a lot of work still.
“Hopefully these three points can help us to increase our confidence on the pitch.
“It was difficult because we conceded quickly but the team showed personality to keep going and playing in our way.
“After the equaliser and our second goal the confidence was increasing little by little.
“We were suffering until the end because West Brom are good at set-pieces and in direct play but we did a good game."
