Southampton boss Hasenhuttl: We'll face Cambridge to win

Southampton boss Ralph Hasenhuttl will field a team to defeat Cambridge United in tonight's Carabao Cup tie.

The Premier League outfit will visit Abbey Stadium, home of League OneCambridge United, in the second-round of the EFL Cup – and their first cup tie of the campaign.

"It's good, it's good. We are looking forward to going there for this game, it's a League One team and we are going there with a clear target to go into the next round," Hasenhuttl said of the tie.

“We will try to rotate a little bit. There are players who need games in the meantime and we will see how much we do it. The possibility is there.

“You have in general a different game because you expect more of the ball I think and this creates a different game immediately. We will see how offensive we will be and how much of a change in shape we make."

The likes of Theo Walcott and Alex McCarthy are yet to play a minute in the Premier League so far this campaign, while Yan Valery, Oriol Romeu and Jan Bednarek are also likely to start.

“Last year we showed how far we want to go, we had not a bad record in those cup competitions and this is how we take it. We will definitely have some changes in the team.

“But we are taking it seriously, like last year when we won at home versus West Ham with nine changes. You see this is possible and when you take it serious you can perform with other players."
