Southampton boss Hasenhuttl wanted to keep Nice signing Lemina

Southampton boss Ralph Hasenhuttl says they need more players ahead of the new season.

The Austrian is not entirely happy with the team's outlook as they enter the last stretch of pre-season before the new Premier League campaign.

The Saints have only added two players to their first team squad, Romain Perraud and Theo Walcott (loan made permanent).

Hasenhuttl strongly believes more business must be done, while he expressed some regret over the sale of Mario Lemina.

The Saints boss told BBC Radio Solent: "We will definitely get a few more in, in the full-back positions, but also maybe a six (midfielder) and a centre-back.

"But the market is now I think getting a little bit hotter. We have our fingers in the market, but we must wait until the right moment.

"I wanted to keep [Lemina] here, but he definitely said he wanted to leave, to go.

"We know that we are a little bit short of players."
