Southampton boss Hasenhuttl on victory over Arsenal: We took FA Cup seriously

Southampton boss Ralph Hasenhuttl was delighted with the performance for victory over FA Cup holders Arsenal.

Kyle Walker-Peters' low cross after 24 minutes was diverted into his own net by Gabriel, proving to the difference between the two sides.

“We took it very seriously today and tried to win against the cup holders," he said. “It was a big home game and a pity that the fans weren't here to watch us fight against them.

“I think we showed them some good actions and the first half was definitely a very good one for us, and the second half was a little bit more under pressure but this is normal.

“The first half was very good and organised, calm on the ball and we had some good early ball wins. It was a very committed performance but tough against a strong side."

Saints will now face Wolves in the fifth round of the competition, with Hasenhüttl taking it one game at a time.

“Like this week when we play twice against Arsenal, it will be twice against Wolves.

“There's still a way to go and we first have some Premier League games that we must try to win and then we can focus on the cup again."
