Southampton boss Hasenhuttl not ruling out Elyounoussi return

Southampton boss Ralph Hasenhuttl insists they haven't wrote off any of their loan players.

Hasenhuttl was speaking after winger Mohamed Elyounoussi said he had not thought about his future earlier this month.

Norway international Elyounoussi is currently in his second season on loan at Celtic, having scored 13 goals in 37 appearances for the Scottish giants this campaign.

Hasenhuttl has already stated he would like a bigger squad with Saints next term.

Asked whether he saw Elyounoussi or any other loan players playing a part with Saints next season, to add depth, the Austrian boss replied: “We have a few players in our mind. You can be sure that every player who is on loan we try to follow.

“We try to have the latest information about his performances, his physical condition at the moment.

“We have to do this and, therefore, yeah, we will have a look at a few and everybody who does well has a chance to come back in the summer. This is how it should be."
