Southampton boss Hasenhuttl: Arsenal doing a good job; Lacazette is always strong

Southampton boss Ralph Hasenhuttl has dismissed doubts about Arsenal.

Saints meet an Arsenal team which has lost three in the past four games.

"They are in the same situation as us in trying to find some answers," said Hasenhuttl.

"You can see how tough it is for them, they want to qualify for the Champions League. They have some injury problems but are still a team that is on the way up.

"They have done a good job this season so far. It is a young team and like always with a young team there are some ups and down. It's important for us to cause some issues. They had a tough start, then a flying-high time when doing really well. Then a lot of games were cancelled, lost a bit of rhythm then came back. Now it's about stepping into the top four. You see how tough it is to win every week. We have our things to look at and are not concentrating so much on the opponent."

Hasenhuttl also spoke of young trio Emile Smith Rowe, Bukayo Saka, and Gabriel Martinelli:

"They are terrific talents but (Alexandre) Lacazette has always been strong against us. To defend against them need to have good commitment, have the right pressing line, the right height of the back four. When you have this it's tough for any team to score goals. We can definitely cause them some issues, it was too easy when we played them last time. They are a good team who can stress you, we have to find a way with a good balance."
