Celtic are on the brink of finalising a deal for South Korean World Cup star Cha Du Ri, reports the Daily Mail. The 29-year-old defender is a free agent after leaving Bundesliga side SC Freiburg and revealed on Monday that he is due to fly to Glasgow to undergo a medical with the SPL runners-up.

Parkhead sources confirmed the club was closing in on Cha, who played in three of his nation's four matches in South Africa before they were knocked out by Uruguay in their last-16 tie.

"Tomorrow, I fly to Glasgow to undergo the medical check," Cha was quoted as saying.

"Then I will take two weeks' vacation in South Korea."
