South Africa's English coach Stuart Baxter has explained how they managed to take Liverpool star Mohamed Salah out of the game for their AFCON triumph over Egypt.
Bafana Bafana sent Salah's Egypt home with a 1-0 victory in the AFCON last-16 knockout round.
“The are two or three things we had to do, press higher up the field and stop the delivery," Baxter said.
"If we couldn't stop that, we had to screen in front of [Salah] and when he got the ball, get some support quickly to him and make sure he runs into a lot of traffic and not into free space.
“The players did really well. Salah is an unbelievable player. We knew if he got the goals, we could be going back to Johannesburg, but they did very well and he didn't."
