Liverpool legend Graeme Souness is convinced the current back four can stay together for the next eight years.
Liverpool have lost just one league game all season, with the defence playing a large part in that.
Alisson, 27, has starred once again in goal, with Trent Alexander-Arnold, 21, and Andy Robertson, 26, key man either side of centre-back pairing Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez.
Van Dijk would be 35 in eight years' time but Souness can see no reason why all five players cannot stick together for an extended period.
"I think when you look at the age of their goalkeeper and the rest of the back four, that's a team within a team," Souness said on The Football Show.
"They could be around for another seven, eight years and only get better given their age group."
