Liverpool legend Graeme Souness insists manager Jurgen Klopp's team cannot be regarded as great - for the moment.
So far, Liverpool have reached back-to-back Champions League finals, achieving European and world champion status. They almost certain to end 30-year wait for a league title in 2020, and Souness believes Klopp will meet Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's requirements of being a truly legendary squad one day.
"You can't say they're a great team until they win back to back leagues, a few European cups, but I think they will get there," Souness said on Sky Sports.
"City have made it easy for them this year, because they haven't had the pressure. Liverpool are on fire, they feel they can win every game. They're playing with a freedom that many teams don't have."
