Mathias Pogba has sparked a January market meltdown between lower division clubs Lorca and CD Manchego.
The older brother of Manchester United star Paul Pogba, Mathias joined CD Manchego last season from FC Tours and has impressed for the Madrid club.
It emerged this week that Pogba had signed for Lorca, with the Tercera Division club announcing the deal on social media - and the striker confirming the move.
However, CD Manchego insist nothing has been settled and Pogba remains their player.
A club statement read: "To this day, he continues to have a valid contract with our club. We remain in talks to solve the situation in the best possible way. Both the club that formalises the announcement of the incorporation of a player with a current contract, and without a contract of freedom, as the player who extends the same announcement, are aware of that situation.
"As we have been acting, we will ALWAYS defend the rights and interests of the Manchego Ciudad Real CD."
It was suggested Mathias' move last year was a precursor to Paul joining him in the Spanish capital with Real Madrid.
