Benjamin Galdames has committed his international future to Mexico.

Currently playing in Chile with Unión Española, Galdames has turned out for both the U20 team of Chile and also Mexico.

But the son of former Cruz Azul star Pablo Galdames has now announced he will play for El Tri.

The Mexico City born midfielder, 19, declared: "And the moment has come when I had to make a decision. It was not easy, because I have lived all my life in Chile, my father and my brothers have played for Chile and it is a country that I love with all my heart. I play in Chile and my life as an athlete is thanks to Unión Española, a Chilean club and nothing and no one can doubt that.

"After thinking about it a lot, talking about it with my family and having been training with both teams, I made the decision to choose at this point in my career to play for Mexico."
