The son of FC Basel legend Scott Chipperfield has signed a first pro deal with the club.

Liam Chipperfield has been with FCB since he was 13 years of age and penned pro terms this week at 16.

Liam has already tasted first team football for FCB, featuring in a preseason friendly against FC Schaffhausen, won 4-0. He is a Swiss U16 international.

Former Australia international Scott Chipperfield spent 11 years with Basel, playing 269 games.

He is the Basel all-time record holder of titles with the club, with seven Swiss National League A/Super League and six Swiss Cup honours.
