Son backing Spurs teammate Kane to retain World Cup Golden Boot

Tottenham striker Heung-min Son says teammate Harry Kane can win the World Cup Golden Boot for a second time.

Kane claimed the prize at the tournament in 2018, scoring six goals in Russia as Gareth Southgate led the Three Lions to their first World Cup semi-final since 1990.

However, despite drawing a blank in England's win over Iran in their Group B opener, Son believes that the 29-year-old is capable of making history in Qatar.

"Obviously, we're good friends and I've spoken to him about what's been going on - but I'll keep that conversation to myself," the South Korea captained explained.

"Of course, I'm hoping he's okay. He should be at this tournament. He can show everyone he's one of the best strikers in the world. I wish him all the best and I hope he wins the Golden Boot."
