Somogyi surprised but happy to be at Fulham

Csaba Somogyi admits he was surprised to see his image alongside two of Fulham's top players on a club advertisement.

The 27-year old Hungarian goalkeeper joined the Whites last summer to provide back-up for Mark Schwarzer and David Stockdale and has indicated that he is thrilled to be playing at a Premier League club.

Somogyi also loved the fact that he was chosen as one of the faces of Fulham which suggests to him that he will be considered at some stage during the season.

"I was surprised to see myself in a big photo, alongside Brede Hangeland and John Arne Riise, in the club's official shop," said Somogyi.

"I couldn't believe my eyes because I really didn't expect the club would advertise a goalkeeper's jersey with me.

"What pleases me more is that the picture will be there during the entire season."

He added: "Martin Jol and goalkeeping coach Hans Segers have praised me. I'm a stable third-choice keeper now.

"There were two clubs that wanted to sign me on loan this summer, but I wasn't informed about it.

"But, anyway, Mr Jol said he doesn't want me to leave in case of a red card or an injury to Schwarzer or Stockdale."
