Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will meet with Romelu Lukaku next week to discuss his future.
The London Evening Standard says the pair are set to meet as Solskjaer plans to gauge the Belgium striker's troubled season and his desire to remain at Old Trafford.
It is understood Lukaku has not been placed on the list of players under immediate threat as part of United's summer overhaul.
But Solskjaer has been concerned by a run of eight games without a goal for the £75m striker, who has openly discussed the possibility of a move to Italy.
It is thought United will listen to offers for the second most expensive signing in their history – but would want to recoup the money they paid Everton in 2017.
For now, Solskjaer is planning on Lukaku being part of his squad next season – and their talks are evidence of the Norwegian's determination to address his side's lack of cutting edge.
