Solskjaer seriously seeking to bring Juventus star Ronaldo back to Man Utd

Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is eager to work again with Juventus striker Cristiano Ronaldo.

Solskjaer played with Ronaldo and has welcomed the prospect of bringing him back to Old Trafford this summer.

The Athletic says despite ending as Serie A's top goalscorer for the 2020-21 season with 29 goals, the 36-year-old's time in Turin could come to an end after three years.

While Juve managed to qualify for the Champions League on the final day of the campaign, they are under pressure to alleviate financial difficulties and offloading the Portuguese would see them do that.

It is claimed his gross salary and the amortisation of his contract costs the Italians around £68million (€80m) every year.

And despite his on-pitch performances, that could facilitate an exit with United one of the very few clubs in world football who could finance a package to land the striker.

Although Ronaldo turns 37 next season, Solskjaer would entertain bringing Ronaldo back to Old Trafford 11 years on from his move to Real Madrid.

Indeed, Solskjaer's opinion of his former team-mate, whom he shared the dressing room with for four years, could not be higher.
