Ole Gunnar Solskjaer insists victory over Mauricio Pochettino's Tottenham had nothing to do with their battle for the Manchester United job.
Instead, Solskjaer is confident United can catch Tottenham in their efforts to secure an automatic Champions League qualifying berth.
He stressed: "This game was never about me or him, never. You made it out to be. For us, it's three points.
"And we had to beat them today if we have a chance to catch them. We were 10 points behind them, now we're now seven. And seven points, that's catchable. Thirteen, impossible. Ten, difficult. Now we have a chance."
