Solskjaer grants Rojo time-off to prepare for Man Utd sale

Manchester United defender Marcos Rojo is ready to leave in January.

The Manchester Evening News says Rojo has been granted time off by Manchester United ahead of a possible move in the January transfer window.

Rojo, 29, returned to training over two weeks ago after a muscle injury but flew to Argentina to spend Christmas with his family. United sources have told the MEN the Argentinian is on standby amid the possibility of a mid-season move.

Although Axel Tuanzebe has succumbed to injury again and Rojo is fit, Phil Jones and teenager Dishon Bernard have provided cover at centre half in the recent games against Watford, Newcastle and Burnley.

Eric Bailly is nearing his comeback from a five-month lay-off with a knee injury and the plethora of centre-backs have convinced United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to allow Rojo to leave if the club receives an acceptable offer.
