Solskjaer delivers injury update for Man Utd pair Shaw and Williams

Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has delivered an injury update for fullback pair Luke Shaw and Brandon Williams.

Shaw suffered a twisted ankle against Southampton and Williams also went off with a facial cut. Solskjaer will wait to see if one of the two left-backs is fit to play at Crystal Palace on Thursday, but insists he will not select a team with one eye on Sunday's FA Cup semi-final against Chelsea.

"Luke has got a swollen ankle and I'll give him as much time as possible to recover," said the United boss. "It was a twisted ankle and Brandon cut up his eye. I don't really know.

"None of them trained yesterday [Tuesday]. They were both swollen and I'll give them as much time as possible to let the swelling go away.

"The team selection for Thursday is based on Thursday not Sunday. Sunday is irrelevant, it doesn't come into my head at all.

"There were a couple of doubts before the Southampton game but they all reported fit on the day. Hopefully we can give them time now and not have to leave players out because of injury, but there might be one or two fresh pairs of legs coming in."
