Solskjaer defends Man Utd despite dismal stats when dominating possession

Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has defended their style of play when dominating possession.

Defeat at Watford on Sunday means United have now won just ten of the past 28 games where they have dominated the possession stats.

Asked about the numbers, Solskjaer told VG: "Today it was not about how much ball possession we had. I do not know the statistics. But it's about quality when we do things.

"We let in two goals: a mistake and a tackle we shouldn't have done. The two goals in three or four minutes made it difficult for us, not how much we had the ball."

The result leaves United in eighth position on the table - seven points from fourth placed Chelsea.
