Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer insists he is confident in his job going to Everton on Saturday.

United kick off their game at Everton this lunchtime in 15th place and with Solskjaer under fire after back-to-back defeats.

"Today it's sunny in Manchester, I don't expect the wind to turn," he said. "I've always had a very good, open, honest and positive dialogue with the club. They've shown strong leadership since I came in.

"Of course, there is always pressure and expectations on us, but I have grown up here and have learned how to deal with good and bad times.

"I'm good. You don't have to be happy to still stay positive because you know on difficult days in life there will be better ones coming.

"I don't look at one or two results and fall like a house of cards. It's a setback, definitely. But not long ago we were the best thing since sliced bread when we beat Leipzig and Paris Saint-Germain.

"I'm not happy being under pressure, as you say. You have to have strong shoulders and a strong head, but I've never really been in too dark a place."

Solskjaer continued: "All my conversations with the club have been planning long-term. Of course, we want results short-term, but I've had good dialogue about the plans we've put in place.

"We have planted a seed, the tree is growing. Some clubs just rip up that tree and see if it is still growing and getting water underneath.

"I've had backing all the way and the club needs to look at the bigger picture. We can't go reacting to one or two results."
