Arsenal midfielder Martin Odegaard has been named new captain of Norway.
Norway coach Stale Solbakken announced the decision yesterday, with Odegaard replacing Stefan Johansen of Fulham, currently on-loan with QPR.
Odegaard, himself, is on-loan at Arsenal from Real Madrid and Solbakken said: "There are some players who grow into it (being a captain), while some feel that it is an extra responsibility that weighs on them. Martin was super ready for this.
"He was chosen by me after a review with the support staff and coaches, and then there was a feeling I had after conversations with players. We think Martin has lived a long life already in European football."
