Portugal international Cedric Soares has agreed a new four-year deal at Southampton.

The 24-year-old defender returned to the club as a Euro 2016 winner this season, having played 27 times for the south coast outfit last campaign.

"It's good news for the club, for Cédric and for all the team. He is an international player, he has won Euro 2016 with Portugal and it's important for the club to keep players of his calibre," boss Claude Puel told the club website.
