Former Dutch star Wesley Sneijder feels for Manchester United midfielder Donny van de Beek.

After his arrival from Ajax 12 months ago, Van de Beek struggled to make an impact with United over the past season. However, he still made Holland's Euro 2020 squad, but his stay was cut short after Van de Beek suffered an injury last week.

Sneijder said, "That boy has played very little.

"In the end you select him anyway. Then you also have to give him complete confidence and let him start. You have to inform him that before the tournament: 'You will be my regular number ten'. He has those qualities of course.

"He does not play for nothing at Manchester United. He didn't and in the end it affected his body with the injury."
