Wesley Sneijder has revealed he is close to signing a new deal with Inter Milan. The Dutch star was a vital member of the squad which took out the Champions League, Scudetto and Coppa Italia treble last season but was linked with a move away from the San Siro during the summer.

However, Sneijder has admitted he is keen to remain with the club and says a new deal is imminent.

"I hope as soon as possible to reach a new agreement with the club," he said.

"We are working hard. I hope it is handled quickly and I can stay connected to this great club for a long time."
