St Etienne have offered a cryptic tweet to Arsenal and their fans over talk of cutting short William Saliba's loan.
Saliba joined the Gunners in the summer from the Ligue 1 outfit for £27million - but was immediately sent back on loan across the Channel for this season.
Arsenal originally wanted Saliba to continue his development with plenty of first-team minutes at Saint Etienne but a defensive crisis at the Emirates has led to Mikel Arteta considering bringing him back.
Despite the north London interest in collecting their possession, Saliba trained as usual with Saint Etienne on Tuesday morning.
"Good morning Arsenal Fans!" St Etienne wrote in a tweet, which was prefixed by a waving emoji and ended with a smug face and a "call me" hand.
