Liverpool goalkeeper Loris Karius has been presented with the 2018 German Football Ambassador award.
Currently on-loan with Besiktas, Karius has been recognised for his work with the Reds and the Turks last year. This despite his form problems on the pitch.
The German Football Ambassador award was founded in 2012 by Roland Bischof and honours German coaches and players who contribute to the positive image of football and Germany through their appearance and commitment. The awards are combined with prize money for social projects.
Bischof visited Karius in Istanbul this week to present the award: "Unfortunately, we both did not yet manage to meet in person for the award ceremony. However, any contact has always been very uncomplicated and relaxed. I am therefore very happy to meet him and present him with his well-deserved award."
