SNAPPED: Gattuso defends 'great man' Donnarumma as AC Milan fans vent

AC Milan coach Rino Gattuso jumped to the support of Gigio Donnarumma after victory over Verona last night.

Donnarumma was seen in tears before the game as Milan fans turned on the goalkeeper after reports emerged of a push to have his deal terminated.

Milan fans sung and chanted: "Donnarumma piece of s***" before the game as a banner was unfurled targeting both Donnarumma and his goalkeeper brother Antonio, who was on the bench for the night:

"Psychological violence is charging six million a year and paying the salary to a parasitic brother? Go now, patience is over"

After the 3-0 win, Gattuso remarked: "I met Gigio in these months. In addition to the technical qualities, there is talk of a boy who wanted to come to Rijeka at all costs even if he was not summoned.

"He never missed a workout, he was always available, in Benevento he cried at the end of the game. He will always have the support. I'm sorry for how they do it, because this is not Gigio. He is the greatest goalkeeper in the world and a great man."
