Smith plans 'Top talks' over Leicester future

Leicester City interim boss Dean Smith will speak to chairman Aiyawatt 'Top' Srivaddhanaprabha about his future.

The head coach was given a seven-week contract with the club to save them from relegation.

Instead, the Foxes have dropped down into the Championship, finishing 18th in the Premier League despite winning on the last day of the season against West Ham United.

“We didn't speak about anything beyond seven weeks and eight games," Smith said in his post-match press conference.

“I will speak to Top, who I have an awful lot of respect for, over the next couple of days and commiserate with him. The time and effort he puts in there for all to see, certainly the people who work here.

“Ultimately, I won't be thinking about my future right now. This is raw, just being relegated. I'll go away and reflect on it. I will speak to Jon [Rudkin - director of football] and Top but it's a hypothetical question at the moment."
