Slavisa Jokanovic to be confirmed new Sheffield Utd manager

Former Fulham boss Slavisa Jokanovic is set to be confirmed as new Sheffield United manager.

Jokanovic is on the verge of a return to English football following talks with the Blades hierarchy after emerging as their first-choice to replace Chris Wilder, says the Daily Mail.

Wilder left Sheffield United in March and was replaced by Paul Heckingbottom, who was unable to prevent the Bramall Lane club from being relegated.

Jokanovic led Watford to the Premier League in 2015 as second tier runners-up to Bournemouth. In 2018, Jokanovic's Fulham won promotion via the play-offs.

After leaving Fulham, the 52 year-old was appointed manager of Al-Gharafa, steered them to fourth in the Qatari League and a place in the Asian Football Confederation Champions League.

Jokanovic's contract with Al-Gharafa expires next month.
