Singapore hold out Jordan in Group E

Singapore went from a goal up to be level to eventually winning the contest against Jordan in Group E Asian qualifying. The Lions netted the first goal in the 21st minute through Agu Casmir before Jordan equalised thanks to Hatem Aqel who converted from the penalty spot.

Noh Alam Shah scored the winner in the 64th minute to give Singapore a much needed win after losing their opener 6-0 to Iran.

Lions coach Radojko Avramovic was pleased his charges were able to redeem themselves.

"As a team we did well and I felt the desire was there to win the game," he said.

"Team spirit is back...not 100% yet but it is back."
