Simpson urges Leicester stars to stick together

Danny Simpson has urged his fellow Leicester City teammates to stay put at the King Power Stadium.

Leicester claimed the Premier League title last season against all odds and it has been no surprise whatsoever in seeing a number of clubs eyeing a move for the Foxes star players.

The likes of Riyad Mahrez, N'Golo Kante and Jamie Vardy have all been linked with a move away from the East Midlands but defender Simpson has implored his title-winning colleagues to remain and build on their success next season.

The right-back said: "Listen, you can go and play and win trophies at other teams but this group of players are so close that we're like a family.

"I told a few of them that. We know we have top players in the team. We have seen the rumours and there will be people interested, but at the end of the day I hope they all stay. I don't think they will get what we have here anywhere else.

"I believe any of our players can go on to the top teams and play. But I hope we can all stay together because it is a special group of players and we want to kick on.

"When I first signed and the owners first took over they had a plan to get where they wanted to get to, but we have probably done it a lot sooner than they figured."
