Atletico Madrid coach Diego Simeone was pleased with their 2-0 Champions League win over Lokomotiv Moscow.

Joao Felix and Felipe struck for the win to secure progress to the round of 16.

Simeone said, “I'm happy, because it isn't easy to reach the Champions League last 16.

"A fantastic tie awaits, because all teams are very strong. It will be a fascinating challenge. The fans are always by our side and they have no idea how important they are. Now it's time to continue in the same way in LaLiga."

Kieran Trippier missed a penalty on the night, but he added: “The most important thing is the win. We needed to put in a strong performance to qualify, and we've done that. I'm delighted that Joao and Felipe got goals tonight. I thought the team effort was outstanding tonight, both offensively and defensively."
