Sigurdsson urges Swansea to improve away results

Gylfi Sigurdsson is eager for Swansea City to improve their form on the road.

Sunday's 3-1 defeat to West Ham United at Upton Park was the Welsh club's fourth away from the Liberty Stadium this season which has them denied them the chance to be sitting closer to the top four.

In the wake of that defeat, Sigurdsson has urged his teammates to pick up their away performances in order to gain a stronger foothold in the top half of the Premier League standings.

"Sunday was frustrating," he told the club's official website.

"It was quite difficult for us for some reason. Maybe it was down to us not passing the ball well enough, or them pressing us well. But it was a tough afternoon.

"We've played some tough teams away - Everton, Chelsea, Man City, Manchester United and going to West Ham wasn't easy.

"We want to address that because you need good away form if you want to be higher up the league."

Swansea's home form has yielded five wins, two draws and a loss while their away results pale into comparison having saluted just once, drawing twice and losing on four occasions.
