Shrewsbury Town manager Micky Mellon plans to tap Sam Allardyce for information about how to beat Manchester United this week.
The Shrews are currently 19th in League One and welcome Louis van Gaal's side at New Meadow next Monday.
Mellon played for Sunderland boss Allardyce at Blackpool and told the Shropshire Star: “I'll speak to Big Sam and see what his plan was and see if there is any help he can give us.
“If there is anything we can learn from them I am sure we will.
“It's a fantastic moment for my managerial career and for Shrewsbury Town."
